Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points

Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP), as listed on the FDA website, “is a management system in which food safety is addressed through the analysis and control of biological, chemical, and physical hazards from raw material production, procurement and handling, to manufacturing, distribution and consumption of the finished product.”  Bonamar Corp. does not purchase from anyone who does not have a written HACCP plan.

The Best Aquaculture Practices

The Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) standards address environmental and social responsibility, animal welfare, food safety and traceability in a voluntary certification program for aquaculture facilities. The BAP certification defines the most important elements of responsible aquaculture and provides quantitative guidelines by which to evaluate adherence to those practices.

Drafted by technical committees with broad stakeholder representation and overseen by a Standards Oversight Committee, the BAP standards are very comprehensive. Although individual standards vary by facility type, all BAP standards address community and employee relations, conservation of biodiversity, soil and water management, and drug and chemical management.

British Retail Consortium

The BRC Global Standards are a leading global safety and quality certification program, used throughout the world by over 17,000 certified suppliers in 90 countries through a network of over 80 accredited and BRC recognized Certification Bodies. The BRC Global Standards are widely used by suppliers and global retailers. They facilitate standardization of quality, safety, operational criteria and manufacturers’ fulfillment of legal obligations. They also help provide protection to the consumer.
